Joe is hungry for experience. Francis is hungry for Joe. They meet at a Raw Food restaurant and despite his reservations, Joe is eager to be devoured. In this intelligent but disgusting comedy of manners, we learn novel uses of fruit and vegetables and of the dangers of obsession. Set in Soho, there is a glimpse in to the hidden, murky world of pornographers, porn-stars, prostitutes and junkies. And nothing, especially love, is as it appears. Warning. Though enjoyed by many, the author now has reservations about this story. As the reviews indicate, it is shocking and may cause offence. It is a satire on the m/m romance genre and is meant to push readers outside of their comfort zone. It attempts to evoke the darker feelings of victims of sexual abuse and the use of raw food should be understood as a metaphor. While there is much to recommend it, it does not entirely succeed in its objectives. It remains in print because it introduces characters from the 2 volumes of The Quantum Twins, that is Magic By Button and Button Mania.
