As 14-year old Christy leaves her family's Wisconsin farm to spend the summer at her wealthy aunt and uncle's beach home in Newport, she realizes this could be the best season of her life. . Through it all, will Christy keep her promise to her parents not to do anything she'll regret?.

Christy’s family makes a big move just before her sophomore year of high school, and Christy has to start all over making friends. Despite an embarrassing escapade at a slumber party, things are going pretty well until some midnight fun leads to a trip to the police station. Why is it so hard to know who your friends really are? Christy wonders if Katie will remain a loyal friend. More importantly, she wonders if she'll ever see Todd again.

Christy is back at Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob's beach house at Christmastime, and she can't wait to see Todd, the surfer who captured her heart last summer. Why is it that Christy and her aunt are barely speaking? And why does it seems like all her friends are mad at her, too - including Todd? Figuring out relationships is more complex than Christy ever imagined, but she's not willing to give up on the people who really matter to her.

Cheerleading tryouts are coming up, and Christy is giving it all she’s got. The competition is tough, and some of the girls are just rude, but Christy thinks she has a good chance to make the squad. Meanwhile, prom is just around the corner. Christy hopes her parents will make an exception to their “no dating until 16” rule. She’d love to go with Todd to his prom. Will things go as she planned? As the surprises keep coming, will Christy end up springing a surprise of her own?

Christy Miller is spending her 16th birthday on Maui with her family, Todd, and Paula, her best friend from Wisconsin. What could be better? Christy soon discovers that she and Paula don’t have as much in common anymore. What's worse is that Paula is obsessed with getting a boyfriend and Todd is suddenly Paula's idea of the perfect guy. Will Todd choose Paula over her? Christy's heart is tested even further when she receives an unexpected phone call on her birthday. Christy starts going out with Rick and thinks it's romantic that he has come up with a list of things for them to do. What a thoughtful guy! So, why is it that her best friend Katie warns her to be careful of "Slick Rick"? When Rick lets Christy know he's not happy about her early curfews and weekend job, Christy wonders if she should heed Katie's warnings. Or is Katie secretly jealous? And where does mysterious Todd fit into Christy's life right now? Will Christy give up on all these complicated relationships? Or will her heart find a way to hope again?

What is a true friend? Christy Miller knows she has two of them: Todd and Katie. But Todd took off for Hawaii where he's attending college and surfing every chance he gets. Katie turns up the encouragement and convinces Christy to join the ski club with her even though Christy is pretty sure skiing is not a sport where she's going to shine. But besties support each other, right? So why is Katie the one laughing the loudest and longest as they bumble their way around the bunny slopes at Lake Tahoe? Things get complicated when Christy finds herself caught between new friends who invite her into their circle and her loyalty to Katie who is now on the outside. It’s Christmastime, and Christy has lots going on with school, family, work, and maybe, just maybe, going to the Rose Bowl Parade with a bunch of friends. If only she could answer Uncle Bob’s tough questions about life. What does her future hold? Todd’s friend, Doug, gives her some insight that causes her to start appreciating Doug in a whole new way. Since Todd is still off at college in Hawaii, Rick takes the opportunity to show up at the most unexpected moments. But is he there to see Christy or the cutest elf at the mall? The new year finds Christy sitting on the roof of a familiar VW bus counting the stars. The question is, which guy is sitting beside her when that heavenly moment finally happens?

What could be better than spending Labor Day weekend on a houseboat at Lake Shasta with her closest friends? Christy is so happy! This is the way she always hoped things would turn out with Todd. So why is it that everything else in her life has become more stressful and complicated now that she and Todd are closer than ever? Is it because Katie has fallen into a serious relationship as well? These two best friends are at odds just when they should be having the most fun together. Christy soon realizes that sometimes, you have to stand back and let people make their own decisions, even when you don't agree with them. You can't change everything and everybody. But you can change your choice of paint color on a vintage bookshelf. Especially after finding inspiration from the sunset after a walk on the beach with Todd. If it's true that there is time for every season under heaven, then Christy believes this is definitely a time to cherish.

Summer means beach time to Christy. But her best friend, Katie, has a different idea - let's be camp counselors! Christy warms to the plan until Katie announces at the last minute that she has to back out. Christy takes on the challenge and soon finds she is bewildered and overwhelmed by her fifth-grade girls, who have boundless energy for anything except what Christy wants them to do. Do they even hear a word she says? Soon they’re playing matchmaker between Christy and Jaeson, a handsome counselor and he doesn’t seem to mind. Will a canoe ride in the summer moonlight change the feelings Christy has carried for Todd the last two years? Christy’s birthday turns into the post-camp, summer beach party she's been dreaming of. Or does it? When Christy blows out the 17 candles what will she be wishing?

Christy's senior year is going great! Especially the time she spends with Todd. It's painful, though, to see how her best friend Katie is struggling in her relationship with Michael. A weekend at Uncle Bob and Aunt Marti's in Newport Beach is supposed to help cheer Katie up. Doug even comes along for a day at Disneyland with Christy, Todd, and Katie. His Doug-hugs help, but only a little. Christy appreciates Doug's kindness more than ever, but how is the future going to shape up for all of them after she and Katie graduate? Christy discovers the answers when she is willing to listen, not only to her friends but also to her heart where she can hear God gently prompting her to "let go". What does that mean? How can letting go of all she's been praying for lead her to a place of sweet dreams in the future that has now suddenly opened before her?

Christy is going to Europe! It’s a three-week outreach trip with Doug, Katie, and Tracy. First stop is London for some sightseeing, and then on to a castle in the English countryside for group training. Christy is so excited to be headed for Belfast with her friends. Their roommate, Sierra Jensen, adds lots of energy to their late night conversations along with Katie. Why is it that Tracy seems to be avoiding the merriment? Or is it Christy that she's avoiding? The tension grows and Christy must evaluate her closest relationships. In her heart she knows she's been untrue to herself and also to one of the greatest guys she's ever known. Difficult conversations follow and it seems everything has been made right. That is, until all the plans go topsy-turvy at the last minute and Christy must face her fears. Will she be able to take on the challenge even when she can’t foresee the end result? If she can go the distance and trust God more than ever before, Christy will discover that a promise really can last forever.
