Born in the age of Disney Princesses and a destiny to dwell in nostalgia, it isn’t surprising that I live and breathe Happily Ever Afters. I once wrote a story about a certain famous gecko as a prince in love with a chameleon princess, it was wildly under circulated mostly because it was an assignment, my 3rd grade teacher loved it. She encouraged me to keep writing and to embrace the whims of my imagination. After a failed foray into Hospitality my freshman year of college, I decided I needed a break to figure out what I really wanted for my future. I spent many a year in banking before I realized I had lost focus on what called to my soul, stories. I was still a voracious reader, but my writing had taken a back seat to adulthood. Naturally, I made the foolhardy decision to get a degree in English from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, eventually going on to get my MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco. I loved both of these experiences and look back on them with great fondness. So anyway, I work in finance. I have found a delicate balance between trying to adult in this economy and nourishing my soul by surrounding myself with stories and writing happy endings. When I am not taking way too many pictures of my doggos, Thyra Winifred and Eloise Nightingale, or adventuring around the PNW with a tiny stuffed octopus named Oswald, I am probably drinking tea, reading or writing, and watching the 1999 cinematic masterpiece “The Mummy.“
