This third printing of "Riders Across the Centuries", first published in 1984, demonstrates the enduring nature of José Cisneros' art. Cisneros fans will agree with Paul Rossi, former director of the Gilcrease Institute of American Art and History, who says that the artist is "beyond any doubt, the leading authority in the country, concerning the many varied horsemen of Spanish American history and the horsemen of our own Southwest." In addition to being a visual celebration of Cisneros' art, "Riders Across the Centuries" is a testament to the late Carl Hertzog, whose genius as a typographer and book designer is recognized internationally, and whose advice concerning this book was indispensible.
