Meine inszenierte Romanze mit Toni sollte ein leichter Sieg sein – ein sauberer PR-Schuss für die Venom. Doch Tonis Verteidigung ist undurchdringlich, und meine üblichen Tricks scheinen keine Wirkung zu haben. Jeder glühende Blick, den wir unter den Neonlichtern austauschen, fühlt sich echter an als die glitzernden Casinos am Strip. Und während unser Schauspiel zunehmend wie das Wahre erscheint, frage ich mich, ob ich noch die Kontrolle habe – vor allem, als ich beginne, echte Gefühle für sie zu entwickeln. Ich gehe aufs Ganze, bereit, alles zu riskieren, für eine Chance auf mein Happy End. Aber das hier ist Vegas, und Lady Luck ist eine gnadenlose Herrin. Werden unsere Funken ein dauerhaftes Feuer entfachen, oder läuft die Uhr auf ein kaltes Lebewohl zu?
