After a few decades as an academic, teaching and writing non-fiction, I am turning my attention to writing historical fiction set in late Ming dynasty China. The first six novellas in my Kaifeng Chronicles series, 18 Cranes, Mandarin Ducks, Grand Canal, Silver Pheasant, Learning from Heaven, and Sand And Grass have been published, and the seventh, Astronomical Tables, will be released early in 2022.
