Robert Gadkey graduated from Drake University and received a law degree from The University of Iowa College of Law. Prior to writing fiction, he spent more than a decade working as a divorce lawyer. In 2018, he was a runner-up in Gotham Writers Workshop Goodnight New York contest. In 2019, his first short story, The White Room, was published by The Carolina Quarterly. He and his wife Angela have two children and reside in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
