Nyx finds herself in control of her three companions following the death of Nenet six months ago. The Vesper have forsaken her, leaving her with their powers but nothing else as she struggles to keep her kingdom together. Sipran is her new pet, warring with his mind and body over the gaps in his memory and the mysterious Honey Woman of his dreams. Herd is unconvinced, offering little in the way of help and happy to remain the voyeur. Khepri's forces threaten the annihilation of the continent. All hope seems lost until Nenets return from dead with a new mission and new skills.
