As the group camps out under the stars, a round of spooky ghost stories provides entertainment—until one of the guys sees a real ghost. The kicker? Michael can see it too. River Dog has also been plagued by the shades of the past in recent days, and he brings Max out to the desert to bear witness as the apparition threatens him. He tells Max of an ancient Mesaliko prophecy that tells of vengeance being exacted by the tribe's ancestors if Visitors are allowed to remain among them—Visitors like Max, Michael, and Isabel. Good thing Jesse Ramirez, the new lawyer in Mr. Evens' firm and a close, personal friend of Isabel's, is there to help Michael out. Visions of Danger When Liz, Max, Maria, Michael, and Kyle left Roswell, they didn't think their lives would suddenly become perfect. They were, after all, on the run from the FBI. But they certainly didn't think things could get much worse. They're learning how wrong they were. The FBI has tracked them via their e-mail accounts and is hot on the group's trail. It can only be a matter of time before they are apprehended. Meanwhile, in New York City, three alien Dupes are captured by the police. When the feds are brought on to the case, the Special Unit recognizes the Dupes—and wonders why "Tess," "Michael," and "Isabel" have changed so much since their last encounter. Little does the Unit know it is dealing with a case of mistaken identity. And the real Isabel has more pressing concerns, if Liz's latest vision is to be believed....

After Liz foresees a horrible death awaiting Isabel in Los Angeles, Max sends his sister to Boston and enlists the aid of their former alien protector to wage an assault on the FBI's Special Unit holding his and Liz's parents captive.

Paul Ruditis also writes under the name P.J. Ruditis. I was born and raised in Philadelphia where I lived a typical childhood with a far more interesting fantasy life. I mean, how many other eight year olds were sticking their Star Wars action figures in Ziploc bags filled with water and putting them in the freezer to recreate the ice planet of Hoth? (Really? That many? Never mind.) After college, I moved to Los Angeles and was very lucky to get a job as a page at Paramount Pictures only months after I got into town. I worked as a tour guide and usher, and I performed temp office work around the lot. Eventually, I took a position working in the studio's licensing department where I quickly worked my way up to middle management. After a while, one of my friends in the publishing industry offered me the opportunity to write a Buffy, The Vampire Slayer short story for a collection she was editing. Well, when I heard how little money I could make as a writer, I immediately quit my job to try it full time. (Stupid, I know, but it kind of worked for me.) I started out by writing books based on such wonderful TV shows as Star Trek, Roswell, and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. I have since written over 30 books based some of the best shows on TV, adding The West Wing, Alias, and Prison Break to that ever growing list. While I continue to work on these media tie-ins, I have also been focused more on my own original fiction, including my teen series DRAMA! and the Simon Pulse Romantic Comedy Love, Hollywood Style.
