Raised in the Midwest by a German family, R.D. Thomas regularly dealt with culture clashes while growing up, an issue he highlights in his debut novel. He has previously published short stories and poetry in The Goliard and Die Stimme (German and English Literary magazines), and contributed to the Advocate. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he is working on his second novel.
