Mr. Schaeffer was an artist and instructor at the DuCret School of Art in Plainfield. He also taught at the Visual Arts Center in Summit. He was a life member of the Pastel Society of America and in 1988 was awarded the title of Master Pastellist. He was also a member of many art associations including the Salmagundi Club, the Hudson Valley Art Association and the Westfield Art Association and was included in the Who's Who in American Art, 21st Edition. His works can be found in many private and public collections. He was also a frequent lecturer, demonstrator and a published author of many books and articles.
