I LOVE to read, be it learning more about how people work, to learning more about business to imagining I am someone else entirely (I am kind of obsessed with Lee Child's "Jack Reacher"...as a small woman, it is fabulous to imagine I am out there, taking names...heee) I look forward to hearing what others are reading and why these books make them "tick." I love being silly, love having fun, and love to write - all three things just seem to be a part of me. I started my career as a Communications Consultant, using my writing to help adults find "ah ha" moments that changed their lives for the better. It was rewarding, but the passion wasn't there. In my early 30s, I fell in love with 3 kids (my steps!) and life became about them. One thing I noticed was their weird inability to play by themselves...it seemed all the technology in their lives had stunted their imagination. That's when I thought to myself, "Huh...maybe I can use my writing to not only help people, but also to be silly and have fun! YES!" In 2009, I left Corporate America to share my writing, happiness, and imagination with kids! I am the author of 7 children's books, The Fassa Tails Series: www.amazon.com/author/smoo and the founder of Planet Fassa: http://www.planetfassa.com/ - a children's book and activity company all designed to get kids reading, playing and using their imagination! (FASSA - Fun-Activities-Stories-Service-Awards) My Goal Through my books & Planet Fassa, the goal is to help kids be aware of the beautiful, cool, creative, & fun ideas that exist INSIDE of them. Yes, Sponge Bob is totally cool, & you can dress Penguin avatars that waddle around online, but I'd like kids to realize that they have episode upon episode of cartoons & games inside their heads & hearts. If we don't develop our kids' imagination (which requires "free play"), who will be here to develop the next Scooby-Doo, iPhone, or Star Wars? My Name S. Moo ...a pen name, developed when Shannon Guernsey (my maiden name) became too long to write! It also opened the door for me to be comfortable becoming an author, to let me pay homage to the beloved cow ("Guernsey" is a dairy cow), and to someday write steamy novels under another pen name... ;-)
