Hello good folk, My name is Simon Andrew Chapman. I am a man of many hobbies and interests. My primary profession is that of a Security Consultant - with an emphasis on Aviation Security as well as the management of Insider Threat. My other profession is that of an Author - but I loosely use the term profession, as that would entail making money. HA! I began my writing 'career' in primary school when I first started creating board games for my friends and brothers. My first game was called 'Search' (currently being made into a video game), and used a Squad Leader (shout out to anyone who knows this game) board and my own hand drawn card based equipment system, with many equipment/items being utilised from Battlelords of the 23rd Century (even bigger shout out if you know this). The second game I made was a Pokémon RPG board game to keep my brothers off my back. My other skirmish into writing was that of eulogising poetry for the fallen. I have also write a few academic papers on esoteric topics and now I write technical, legal and forensic analysis correspondence for a living. Unfortunately, sometimes I think that invades my fantasy writing. I am the son of a prolific non-fiction author and pen-and-paper Role Playing Game creator (creator of the P&P RPG, RUS (yeah - massive shout out if you know it). I grew up with old religious and historical texts, occult books, language books, D&D and other curiosities which really kindled my curiosity of the world and its history. Religion and History are probably my two favourite topics - why? Because of how they are intertwined, the catastrophes and atrocities as well as the moral advancement of humanity that religion has played a starring role - not to mention that clash of ideologies where the lines are blurred between 'good and evil' and the concept that 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'. I enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, medieval sword fighting, video games, falconry, woodworking, prospecting, megalithic to Bronze Age culture, and of course - writing.
