In August of 1990 SB Poe was deployed to Saudi Arabia with the 82nd Airborne Division to draw George Bush's 'Line in the Sand'. While lying on a cot at an airfield outside of Riyadh during the Desert Shield portion of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, he was tossed a pile of books donated from folks back home to the USO. Those pages and the stories they held were inspiring to a young SB Poe as he contemplated both the war to come in the desert and the life he hoped to lead if he made it out alive. He did. But as with most people, inspiration is often not enough to raise a family on so perspiration replaced inspiration for a time. But even though a couple of decades have passed and the face in the mirror slowly grew grayer, he never lost the urge. Encouraged by his wife of thirty years and his two children, in the fall of 2017 SB Poe began to pull together a story. In Feb of 2018 he published Marionette: A Zombie Series Book 1 with the intention of creating a book series that tells the story of the zombie apocalypse. Marionette is SB Poe’s first series.
