
1583 ship to ship, port to port, young Sagar drifts through time, unnoticed across decades, alone. Until he meets a broken man, Munib, a seller of ancient scrolls in a Tripoli marketplace. With Munib's donkey Josephus, together they traverse the near east from Byblos to Baalbek in search of their own purpose and unique form of redemption. Amongst bandits and within walled courtyard's, Munib recounts the discoveries and questions which cleaved him from his faith while Sagar begins a spiritual both their fates pull them towards Istanbul, the once great city now being rebuilt by the Ottoman Caliphate.
