Sage is a merman and eldest son of the king. His life consists of training to ascend to the throne, a job he has no interest in taking. When events bring him face to face with Gary, a young human, he can't get the man off his mind. He welcomes the distraction, but never planned on the feelings Gary stirred inside him. Gary seeks more from life. Working, when he would rather be painting, he struggles to find a happy medium. When Sage swims into his life, filling that void, he wonders if things could finally be looking up. As the two explore their new friendship, events spiral out of control putting Sage in danger. He fights to be with Gary, but there are secrets between them, ones that some people would kill to protect.
