Saxe Commins was editor of the Random House Modern Library, where he notably worked with Eugene O'Neill, William Faulkner, Irwin Shaw, Theodore Dreiser, and others. Much of his editorial correspondence was posthumously published by his widow, Dorothy Berliner Commins.
