
Dr. Scott A. Allen is a physician and professor emeritus at the University of California, Riverside. He is internationally recognized in the field of health and human rights, most recently for helping bring attention to the conditions of children in U.S. immigration detention, work for which he and his colleagues received a 2019 Ridenhour Prize and the Physicians for Human Rights Award. He is the co-founder of the Center for Health and Justice Transformation at Brown University and founder and medical director of The Access Clinic, a primary care practice for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities located in Riverside county in southern California where he lives. His debut memoir, Across a Bridge of Fire, was awarded a Bronze Award by the Independent Publishers of New England (IPNE)
