Scott Perkins is an author, discipleship coach, and speaker who helps followers of Jesus gain perspective on their identities so that they can experience transformation in their decisions, behaviors, and relationships, and live in freedom. Scott developed this voice by struggling to understand why his own efforts at discipleship were such a struggle. After graduating from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), Scott and his wife began following Jesus while they lived and worked in Alabama. Years later, Scott began to work full-time in a church that experienced rapid growth. Because his identity was not firmly rooted in Christ, he burned out trying to make everyone happy. Being an imperfect follower, Scott is grateful that God does not give up on his kids when they make a mess. From what he learned through his crisis of spiritual identity, Scott published Tree of Lies in 2016. One of his passions is to coach people as they follow the way of Jesus. When he is not writing or coaching, Scott enjoys reading, being in or near the water, and going on cruises with his beautiful wife Missy and daughter Sarah. He founded Perkins Communications (https://perkinsperspectives.com) to help others experience joy and freedom in their relationship with Jesus and now lives outside Orlando, FL with his wife Missy and daughter Sarah Grace.
