Chastity Cook escaped the abuse she suffered at her father’s house, but when one of his friends spots her in Fallport, she fears she must run again. Without looking, she dashes into traffic and straight into Dane Zeller’s car. Dane feels awful for hitting Chastity with his car. He looked down for one second, and there she was. Luckily, he was able to slow down a little, and she only broke her arm and leg. He follows the ambulance, making sure she receives proper medical care. But when Dane takes her home, he realizes that there is no way she can live in the upstairs apartment she’s been renting. The only solution is to have her stay at his house.
