You know that saying about life being a journey? Mine was not. I didn’t get to stop and smell the roses. I didn’t get to indulge in a normal life. Why, you ask? Because I’m Vivian Adair. The only snake shifter known to our kind. I’ve been trained my whole life that my importance rested on my abilities. That I would help tip the scales to make this world a better place. As an assassin in training, I did more missions than most active killers. I took out the bad apples that fell too far from the tree. It became my sole purpose. So, what happens when I find out my cause might not be what I thought it was? The people closest to me, weren’t who I thought they were? I guess we’ll find out, one secret at a time.

My motorcycle took off from the place I could no longer be in. My reasoning wasn’t as simple as some might think. In the wake of death and betrayal, I needed to discover the truth for myself. If anything, this life has taught me that giving up wasn’t an option. So, I ran. My heart might hurt, but sometimes, that was the greatest motivation of all. The Silent Serpent would strike, but patience came first.

Some truths should never be known. Even though I know this, it doesn’t stop me from discovering it for myself. With each new truth, more questions arise. What am I to do when I don’t like some of the things I’m told? My truth isn’t the same as the one I’m uncovering. The facts tell me this, but my heart isn’t ready.

Rumors. They drive us all to believe the impossible. They make us believe in the unknown. With every whisper on all our tongues, which way is right? How do all the pieces we’ve been burdened with, come together? The secrets are running out. Does that mean time is too?

Well, we’ve come this far. As a group, can we complete the task my father predetermined for me? Can we come together by working together? Only the next clue will tell. But, will I be ready for where it leads us?
