Sergei Petrovich Alekseev (Russian: Сергей Петрович Алексеев) ws a Russian Soviet writer. Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1984). Alekseev entered literary and social life first as an editor and critic, and then as a writer. Since 1946 - editor of the publishing house "Children's Literature", since 1950 - Executive Secretary, later - Chairman of the Commission on Children's Literature of the USSR Writers' Union, author of articles on the development of literature for children. In 1965-1996 - editor-in-chief of the magazine "Children's Literature". Alekseev's first book was “History of the USSR. An educational book for the 4th grade "(1955). For forty years of work in literature, he created more than 30 original books devoted to the history of Russia over four centuries: from the middle of the 16th to the middle of the 20th centuries. Alekseev's books are widely known not only in our country, but also abroad; his works were published in 50 languages ​​of the peoples of the world.
