Sharon Morse was born in Caracas, Venezuela to an Argentine father and an American mother. At the age of six, her family moved to Houston, Texas where Sharon refused to speak a word of English until her first bite of a Shipley’s donut. Her story “Hard to Say” was published in the YA anthology COME ON IN (Inkyard, 2020) and will also be featured in Scholastic’s SCOPE Magazine in 2021. Her debut book VIP: DOLORES HUERTA (Harper Children’s, 2022) will be a middle grade biography of prominent civil rights and labor activist, Dolores Huerta. Sharon loves writing for kids of all ages, including picture books, chapter books, middle grade and young adult novels, as well as non-fiction for kids. Laughter through tears is her favorite emotion.
