It starts, like all good stories do, when a stranger rides into town… The Sheriff has called in notorious gunslinger, Rick Hartnell, to drive the outlaws from Hammer Bend. Rick has a dark past but a steady hand and he gets the job done soon enough. He leads a crew of forty men up into the mountains to ambush the infamous Lenniger Gang. That should have been the end of it. Lenniger is taken back to Hammer Bend to await his trial and Rick rides off out into the Badlands. But Lenniger’s gang, what’s left of them, are determined to rescue their infamous leader. When the gang threatens to wreck havoc upon the town unless Lenniger is released, the Sheriff may find that the people of Hammer Bend aren’t as loyal as they seem. Is Rick the only person left that he can trust? Can he rally the townsfolk of this Siege Town and prevent a savage attack? ‘A thrilling read’ - Robert Foster, acclaimed author of The Lunar Code John Glasby was born in 1928, and gradu¬ated from University with an honours degree in Chemistry.
