Ellie Williams never really figured out how to make her mother proud. Not when she wasn’t doing exactly what her mother wanted. And being a professional athlete wasn’t among the things on her posh mother's list of wants. Even as Ellie became the most recognizable female footballer in England, she couldn’t make her mother happy. The task of making her happy became all too overwhelming after years of sacrifice, all leading to nothing. So she left England and the club of her dreams behind for a new start. She needed to find the reason she loved to play the game again. She signed with a club in America to give herself more room to breathe outside her mother's grasp. That’s where she meets Rain Cloud. She is a tall, brooding defender who instills fear in most of the players she plays against. Rain is the most famous women's right back in the world. She has helped put women's football on the map and paved the way for other girls to play. None of that matters to her, though. She is still trying to figure out what matters to her. After an accident in her childhood that left her and her sister orphans, she has never been the same. Her days are filled with team training, working out more on her own, and sleeping with random women to pass the nights when she can’t sleep. When the two of them meet, life becomes easier in some ways and harder in others. Easier in regards to the fact that they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Harder in regards to the feelings the two of them can't quite keep to themselves. These two opposite women become friends seamlessly. The friendship means more to the two girls than anything else. What happens when becoming more than just friends becomes an option? Can the two of them navigate through their past traumas, or will it overwhelm them and end up damaging them both permanently?
