Janie Thompson is a young woman on her own in New York City during the infamous 1970’s. It is an exciting time in Greenwich Village and the Lower East side, and she embraces it all. Janie leaves behind the family and neighborhood that almost destroyed her to search for her lost brother and herself. She winds up on a harrowing ride through the temptations and pitfalls of those days, peppered with the stories of others on their own trip. A "sonder," the realization that she is not truly alone, may be the only thing that saves her.
