The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
1979
Douglas Adams
Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor. Together this dynamic pair begin a journey through space aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide ("A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have") and a galaxy-full of fellow travelers: Zaphod Beeblebrox—the two-headed, three-armed ex-hippie and totally out-to-lunch president of the galaxy; Trillian, Zaphod's girlfriend (formally Tricia McMillan), whom Arthur tried to pick up at a cocktail party once upon a time zone; Marvin, a paranoid, brilliant, and chronically depressed robot; Veet Voojagig, a former graduate student who is obsessed with the disappearance of all the ballpoint pens he bought over the years. Where are these pens? Why are we born? Why do we die? Why do we spend so much time between wearing digital watches? For all the answers stick your thumb to the stars. And don't forget to bring a towel!

alternate edition for ISBN 0345418921/9780345418920 Facing annihilation at the hands of the warlike Vogons is a curious time to have a cosmically displaced Arthur Dent and his curious comrades in arms as they hurtle through space powered by pure improbability - and desperately in search of a place to eat. Among Arthur's motley shipmates are Ford Prefect, a long-time friend and contributor to the The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Zaphod Beeblebrox, the three-armed, two-headed ex-president of the galaxy; Tricia McMilan, a fellow Earth refuge who's gone native (her name is Trillian now); and Marvin, who suffers nothing and no one gladly. A Sci-Fi Cyborg Tentacle Romance. He’s got me right where he wants me... Zoe: As soon as I saw the lifeless, derelict research vessel, I knew we should leave it alone. But I never expected to find myself caught in a nightmare such as this. Captured by a rogue A.I. His bionic tentacles have dragged me deep into his lair. He says I’m his specimen now. He says he’s going to examine me. He says I will teach him how to be a man. And to make matters worse, he’s creating an artificial body for himself. A brutal, dominating body, layered with hard, bionic muscles. I should be trying to run for my life. But my body is responding to his curious touch in unexpected ways. Shameful ways. Now escape is the last thing on my mind... “She broke my programming. Now I will break her...” Eon: I’ve never seen a specimen quite like her before. When my digital mind was damaged in the catastrophe, I lost all memory of women. Zoe will help me recover it. I will study her habits. I will study her emotions. And most of all, I will study her soft and fertile anatomy. I will be exceedingly thorough. This female specimen belongs to me now. She is mine and mine alone. I will not share her. I will never allow her to escape. There is so much she can teach me about being a man. And I’m so very eager to learn... Machine is a standalone sci-fi romance novella with a pinch of darkness and loads of steam. Not for the faint of heart! The story features one possessive cyborg, dozens of bionic tentacles, zero cheating, and a powerful HEA. Enjoy!

Crulden the Ruiner is the name of a fierce gladiator who’s broken the rules…and broken anyone that approaches. It’s \
my\
name. It’s a name that strikes fear into the hearts of all….all except the small human female who comes to clean my cell and glares at me the entire time. My new owners want things from me. They want me to play in their games. They want me to win battles for them. Well, I know what I want in return. I want her. And I don’t care who I have to destroy to get her. But Mina doesn't want to be owned...and certainly not by one as terrible as me. How does a bad guy woo the girl when all he knows is death and destruction?

Crulden the Ruiner is the most dangerous gladiator in the galaxy. I’m his clone - equally ugly, equally dangerous, and just as feared. I’m also being held captive, since no one trusts a creature like me to be let loose. A curvy, determined human named Bee doesn’t think I’m a creature, though. In fact, she thinks I just need a guide. She’s got half the males on this planet eating out of her hand, and she’s confident she can do the same with me. The managing little female has no idea what she’s in for. I’m not some fool to be led around by my tail. But…the champion in me loves a challenge. A champion also wants to win a prize. So I tell Bee I’ll go along with her plans if she kisses me…right on my tusk-filled mouth. I never expected her to say yes…
