Violence of the Enemy
2017
Like rodents the Nazis had sort and found their appropriate refuge, forced into tunnels and deep caverns by the Allie’s mastery of the air, it was fitting that the bringers of darkness to the World should have been compelled to take refuge in that same environment. From the very top of this loathsome tree to its roots they were in hiding, in bunkers, in old salt mines and in vast tunnel systems. Nonetheless like their rodent counterparts they were never still, always plotting, maneuvering, scurrying from one design to another, scheming to once again gain the upper hand, to once again subject the rest of humanity to a taste of Hades. All their hopes now lay in the brilliance of their scientists and the largest and cheapest labour force the World had ever known. The net around the Nazi’s was closing, hemming them in, they needed to breath, they needed space. They needed ways of getting to that space, rat runs, escape routes, now was the time to overrun and infest pastures new. To make sure these pasture were well funded they needed a huge transfer of cash, gold and jewels. They needed their old friends the Swiss Banks and the South Americans. The huge sums ‘donated’ to the Nazi cause by the oppressed countries of Occupied Europe had been on the move for some time. Invested in South American banks and companies, stored in shadowy Swiss bank vaults. It would soon be time for the elite of the Nazi party to follow the money. To counter this the British, above all the Allies, had people trained and honed by five years of war. In particular there was one such elite group who was as adept at working in the darkness as the Nazis hoped to be. It was a group who had gained a certain reputation amongst the Germans they had encountered, one of guile, of chaos and sudden death, a reputation that rightfully put fear into every German night sentry, every lonely patrol. This elite force reported to but one man, they were Commodore Barr’s Special Force Orca. The War in Europe was moving inland away from the battered coastline, away from ‘Orca’s’ natural environment, it was time for ‘Orca’ to move in new waters.
