Samuel A. Peeples (September 22, 1917 – August 27, 1997) was an American writer. He published several novels in the Western genre, often under the pen name Brad Ward, before moving into series television after being given a script assignment by Frank Gruber. He is known to Star Trek fans for his script for the second pilot episode, "Where No Man Has Gone Before", as well as "Beyond the Farthest Star", the first episode of the animated series Star Trek. He wrote for the original series of both The Outer Limits and Star Trek as well as The Alfred Hitchcock Hour; edited the multiple-award-winning short story anthology series Dangerous Visions; and served as creative consultant/writer to the science fiction TV series The New Twilight Zone and Babylon 5. Robert Edward Hamner (7 July 1928 – 25 April 1996; age 67) either wrote for or produced (or sometimes both) about thirty five different television series,, including Hawaiian Eye, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, A Man Called Shenandoah, Star Trek (episode "A Taste of Armageddon"), The Time Tunnel, Run for Your Life, Lost in Space, Ironside, Hawaii Five-O, Planet of the Apes (episode "The Legacy") and Wonder Woman. He is best known as the creator of the police procedural show S.W.A.T. He worked from the late sixties until shortly before his death.
