Marvel's Star Trek comic run follows the U.S.S. Enterprise's journey after the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Admiral James T. Kirk and his crew continue their second five-year mission to explore the galaxy. They come upon a peculiar planet with pyramids and mummies, go undercover as prison guards, face creatures of legends, and struggle to save a planet from toxic waste. In the final issues, Kirk and Spock have an adventure of the mind that alludes to Gene Roddenberry's novelization of The Motion Picture- a fitting end to the comic series.
