At this time period, Earth has been at war for several years. Our hero, Mike Collins, a former midshipman, now an Ensign, finds himself trapped on a breakaway world that has made a deal with the Karduans. While the Star Wolf and its squadron's ships make repairs from the last battle, Lt. Mike Collins is sent on a mission to find help to break the Kardaun lines and drive deep into their territory. He must locate the 34th Attack Fleet and tell Earth what has happened. A mission for help turns into a fool's errand, and he must then fight his way back to Star Wolf. Battles await him as he returns to the Wolf's Den to meet the Star Wolf and join their attack beyond the Kardaun gates.
