Stephen Tryon is the youngest of eight children from a military family. He grew up in Las Cruces, N.M., joined the Army after high school, and served on five continents. From a desperate firefight over a defector to a near-fatal parachute accident to preparing the Army's senior general for congressional hearings, Stephen's military experience gives him a unique perspective on how our government works, and how it could work better. Upon leaving the Army, he turned to business. In the ecommerce arena, his adventures included managing enormous warehouses, overseeing technical implementations and chasing business deals from Sligo to Shanghai. His first book, Accountability Citizenship, was acclaimed by reviewers for its unbiased, common-sense approach to citizenship. The author describes Accountability Citizenship as a "toolkit for information-age citizenship." The book won the Pacific Book Review Star in 2018. (https://www.pacificbookreview.com/acc...). In an attempt to reach readers who might be interested in a more light-hearted approach to the same topic, Stephen recently published Thy King Dumb Come. He describes this book as "Gulliver's Travels Meets Donald Trump." The book alternates between parody and philosophy in its treatment of current political topics, and affords readers the opportunity to think about the 2020 election in the context of moral philosophy. Stephen lives in Salt Lake City. He loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with family.
