
Tyson and Polly get married at the farm in Moultrie, Georgia amid many long-time friends and neighbors. Charles buys the farm and proceeds to Tifton to attend the trial of the crooked Sheriff, his cousin, and hired gun. Charles escorts Tyson, Polly, and his in-laws to New York and helps them get on the correct ship to Liverpool. Charles has trouble with his son-in-law whom he hired to run the east coast, and he can’t even run Atlanta. Charles is forced to demote him amid threats that he will quit and rejoin the army. Charles is forced to travel to Utah to help resolve a renegade Indian band that is attacking his men while they work. Charles ends up seeking the help of the great Ute Indian Chief Ouray. Charles visits Ghost and finds the perfect gift for U.S. Marshal Hunt, who is recovering from the bear attack in Denver. Charles takes seven Percheron horses to his ranch in Atlanta. However he runs into trouble when the train reaches Cincinnati when a gangster from Toledo attempts to steal his horses. After delivering the horses, Charles returns to Cincinnati to attend trial only to find the judge released the prisoners on their own recognizance. The men released plan to execute Charles and the Judge. Charles is forced to travel to Toledo to settle the score when he discovers the gangster plans to kill him and his family.
