The highly anticipated, Street Love with an Eastside Goon 2 picks up right where part one left off at, with East making a gruesome discovery and Rhythm confused, and saddened by the shooting that left Mel hospitalized. Little did Rhythm know, Mel getting shot was just the beginning of what would eventually seem like a never ending cycle of turmoil and heartbreak. Since transitioning from life in the suburbs to life in the hood, she’s always clung on to hope, relying on college in the fall. Sadly, with medical bills and legal fees piling up, Rhythm’s chances of going to school seems to move further and further away from her grasp. The possibility of having to stay in the trenches forever ultimately sucks her dry of that hope, slowly turning her into someone even she’s barely able to recognize. With the question of Ezlyn’s survival up in the air, East is ready to wreak havoc on any and everybody associated with Slim. Devastation seems to follow him everywhere he goes, when he makes yet another discovery that could easily be considered gruesome as well. Finding out that things aren’t what they’ve always seemed, causes East to fly off the handle… with everyone but ‘her’. Because life is beginning to swallow East whole, he finds solace in the fantasy that has always been Rhythm. They find solace in each other, creating a bond that neither of them saw coming. Giving into his desires came easier than he expected. But once again, he’s reminded that the life of love, fairytales, and happy endings isn’t for him. When skeletons he thought were buried resurfaces, it pushed East right back in that dark place of seclusion where only murder and blood shed resides. At the end of it all, will Rhythm be able to handle East’s inconsistency? Or will they end, just as they had begun, despite the dependency and love they have for one another?
