Revenge is imperative ... Resisting each other is impossible ... Seven has spent her life inside the gray, windowless walls of Taiga. She’s been taught to hate Purebloods with a fiery passion, but she’s learned to hate her captors all on her own. She dreams of revenge, of painting the walls with their blood. When she finds herself outside unexpectedly, rolled out in a cage like a circus freakshow, things go sideways fast … but the voice in Seven’s head whispers one Mine … A few weeks later, back inside Taiga, the whisper repeats it. And the new hybrid it’s directed at seems very chummy with the head of Operation Stranger … *** Jack wants the monster inside him gone. He never asked for this, he resents what he is becoming. When Agent Baxter offers him a complete some small tasks, and the Operation will suppress Jack’s monster so he can return to his old life, he jumps at the opportunity. But then his monster starts roaring Mine on repeat … and he can’t stop thinking about the tawny-skinned hybrid the monster is obsessing over. Jack knows where that sort of attraction heads when you’re a Stranger—even a half-breed one. And it’s something he wants to avoid at all costs. But when Jack and Seven are forced to face their connection, under the most horrific circumstances, they’re left with only two options. Escape … or revenge … There’s only one way they can have both—but can they work together, without succumbing to the call of their blood?

Layla has been writing stories ever since she could pick up a pencil and shape words. The most memorable works of her tween and teen years included a rap version of 'Little Red Riding Hood' and an embarrassingly spicy high school camp/murder mystery (which was possibly a sign of things to come). Layla studied Communications at Newcastle University in NSW, Australia, and worked as a buyer and marketing coordinator in the education sector, before joining her husband in the family retail business. That's still her day job (she's very lucky her boss is pretty lenient, or she'd never get any writing done). Layla lives on an acreage in regional NSW with her husband, two rambunctious children, four mostly feral cats, and an ancient German Shepherd who still thinks he's a puppy. Oh, and some angry Plovers that swoop her every spring without fail.
