Tamara Monteau was born in Vancouver, Washington, and is a graduate of Hudson’s Bay High School, Class of ’78. Her early love of the written word led her to an early discovery of such books as Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Even as a child, Tamara had an interest in all things paranormal, and was a big fan of the early television series Dark Shadows. Tamara met her husband, Mike, while in the Air Force. She left the military after eight years to raise her young family, and often made up stories in her head to pass the monotony of daily chores. She finished her first full-length novel in 1993, and has labored since to perfect her craft and develop her characters. That early work later immerged as The Darker Path, the second in her series about the Vampire Community and Haven’s Realm. Her husband is now retired from the Air Force, and they reside in Middle Georgia. They have four children and one grandchild.
