Teresa LaBella grew up in Davenport, Iowa where the Mississippi River runs east to west. The daughter of a police officer and business executive was inspired by a relentlessly Irish grandmother who taught her to read fortunes with playing cards and brew a perfect pot of tea. The people she interviewed as a journalist and met in her work in the arts and with nonprofits colored her future fiction writing canvas and sharpened her love for telling a good story. Inspired and encouraged by the love of her life, Teresa published her first contemporary romance novel "Reservations" followed by "Heartland" and "Belonging". In this final novel of the trilogy, the story moves over the pond to Scotland where a young woman's personal quest to find herself blazes a trail through self-doubt and uncertainty. Comments from readers led to a series spin-off novella, "Love Unlikely" and short stories on the lives of small town Iowa neighbors in "Tales from Heartland." The author made the genre switch to romantic suspense with the release of "The UnMatchables Case #1: Danger Noted". Gossip leads to intrigue and an international high society celebrity with more than his reputation to protect. For private investigators Eddie Emerson and Kelly Gillespie, sorting through clues may land them in the sights of an assassin with a surprise vendetta. The UnMatchables returned in "Danger Revealed", the Next Generation Indie Book Awards judges' choice in the category of best suspense novel for 2024. An over-the-border move north from Iowa to the Canadian Maritimes inspired the story behind the thriller "Capital Strings". Political intrigue on Parliament Hill decides the fate of a nation and puts lives on the line. Evan Reid lives up to his promises. The last one could kill him. The Prime Minister’s amendment to the weapons bill has mobilized more than the official opposition. A vague threat messaged to Chief of Staff Jerilynn Connor precedes a chain of violence linked to her RCMP husband’s past. The string of texts and untraceable calls between Alec Martin and the vengeful mind behind the anti-gun ban network is all the Director of Parliamentary Protective Service has to go on. Teresa enjoys reading, writing and living along Nova Scotia's stunning south shore with her girl Husky "Rosie".
