Moeera Robin longs to learn the ways of magic. She has little opportunity, though, living in the farming community of Bucktry. Her mother farms and her father is the town blacksmith. Moeera goes to school and helps with the farming and household chores. Then the Wondrous Wecks comes to town for the autumn fair. He fascinates Moeera with his tricks and illusions. Perhaps she will be able to learn magic after all. But Moeera's future is fraught with danger. An evil blood witch stalks the shadows of Bucktry. She sets her sights on Moeera and her family. What chance do the Robins and Wecks have against a witch who can control the minds of others?
