Ianthe is taken from a world of privilege to a new world of magic where she has to hide who she is. She discovers that's hard to do when she's recognized almost immediately and people seek to use it against her. Still, she discovers she's not alone in this new world and slowly finds her way through these strange mechanations and new magic.
