In a modern Dystopian world, Vera struggles with the long-term effects of her parent's choices. Even though her Aunt and Uncle do a great job of protecting her while she is young, once the scores for the Graduation Test are announced, Vera's family can no longer protect her from the truth of her past. When stubborn and scared Vera gets a perfect score on her test, the future of being the next President of The Valley falls right at her feet. Her life as she knows it has been a lie and to piece it together she must learn how to trust herself while wondering if she can trust anyone else.
