The Fly Guild
2011
Star Gleam City was once the destination for thousands of immigrants from the eastern lands looking for a promising future. But the only promise the city holds now is of oppression and death as the opportunities for a better life are long since past. The city is now divided by a great wall. On one side, the working class toils under the brutal reign of The Fly Guild, headed up by a common criminal by the name of Fist, while on the other side, the wealthy enjoy the safety and protection of Lord Wren and his soldiers. An uneasy truce exists between the two as both Wren and Fist profit from the illicit trade that goes on between both sides. But when Quinton, a young member of the guild, secretly stabs Wren’s son in an act of revenge, the truce is broken and the city is plunged into violence as both sides fight for control. Now Quinton is on the run from both the guild and Wren’s soldiers, longing to be free of his indentured life of crime. As both sides close in on his identity as the attacker, Quinton must make a desperate attempt to break free of the city and the guild once and for all.

But there’s one tunnel, long forgotten, that’s been rediscovered: The Deepening Reach. It now holds the key to winning the war against the hated goblins for possession of the holy mountain, but there’s a reason why the tunnel was sealed generations ago, and the Dwarven soldiers sent to exploit it have to learn why, or risk having the goblins use it against them. But when Quinton, a young fugitive from Star Gleam City fleeing a bounty hunter, crosses paths with the soldiers, their fates become intertwined in ways that neither side can fully understand. As the hunter closes in, Quinton and his companions race against time to solve the secret of the Deepening Reach before it’s too late for all of them. About 96,000 words.

But inside the tower is the only man that can help Quinton remove the mark of the damned that binds him to the Lord of the Underworld. Quinton must challenge the guardians and solve the ancient secret of the tower or risk becoming a slave to the Underworld forever. At Sixes and Sevens
2013
Book 5 of The Fly Guild series The Elven Enclave is a city nestled among giant trees, with architecture of stone and wood arching between thousand-year-old branches. Its elven residents enjoy a life of leisure, focusing on art, music and beauty. As the elves move through their lives at a slow pace with little want or need, their human servants toil in the fields and in the households, providing the hard labor and sustenance their elven masters need. For hundreds of years, both races lived in relative peace within their stratified worlds. But when Quinton seeks an audience with the secretive elven leader, Kimmer de Lille, about how to remove the mark of the damned, the city is plunged into chaos as simmering resentments flare and humans start questioning their place in society. Now, Quinton is racing against both elf and man to retrieve his beloved mermaid tear and expose a truth that could rip elven society apart.
