Sick, fat, and desperate. Or less often: thin, sick and desperate. How do we figure? In the 21st century, we've more chronic sickness than ever before in the UK, alongside other rich nations. We have one of the most advanced health care systems in the world. Yet, more of us than ever before are being prescribed more pills and medications than ever. Getting sicker as life goes by – too often drained of energy, dignity and well-being. What on earth is happening here? We’ve learnt a few things about nutrition and health in recent years, that have gradually been transforming people's lives. It may surprise you, how deep your knife and fork could stretch into your physical health, and mental health - as well as public health, public safety, and even law and order, and too. Often, the major answers to health lie at what’s at the end of our fork and spoon. That’s because, so often, the CAUSES have been at the end of our fork and spoon.
