Scarce, vintage novel of the Indo-Pakistan sub-continent covering the years 1930 to 1942, a story of two families, one Hindu, and the other Muslim. The author's only novel. She was a famous Pakistani poet called "diabolically clever" by Bernard Shaw, and the "spiritual daughter" of Sarojini Naidu. She died tragically at the age of 35, in 1948.
