Trevor County, Iowa, better known to east and west coast citizens as “flyover country,” will most likely never be in the national spotlight. The vast stretches of corn, alfalfa, wheat and feed covering mile after mile are just not that interesting. And, of course, we all know what those city slickers think of the folks thereabouts. But then again there was that dull century old barn, you know, the kind that shows signs of giving in to gravity at any moment after so many storm battering years. Suddenly this creaky structure has become pivotal in exposing a mystery no one in Trevor County was prepared for. Consider the The Stanton Burros, his wife Edna, and sons, Troy and Devon. The Beaushard Prichard, (“Buzz” to the locals). Sheriff Prichard, a country boy himself, was up for re-election. The Thelma Gross, a pain in the ass reporter for the Evening Rooster. It was said that Thelma was blessed with a tenacious gossip gene. The Rick Thorton. Rumor has it that he whistles show tunes while performing autopsies.
