The Pirate King faces a siren in order to retrieve vital information that could change the course of the war raging against the Emperor. But even hope comes with a price and he must choose to save himself, or complete his mission. An Odysseus retelling The Man of Twists and Turns is a short story set in the world of Nathal. It is part of the Bearers of Hope collection of short stories, connected to the upcoming Brimwood series by Anne J. Hill. It's a prequel to Light Dawns in Darkness, and happens before that short story, but can be read before or after. It can also be found in the Fool's Honor anthology collection.
