It is part of the Bearers of Hope collection of short stories, connected to the upcoming Brimwood series by Anne J. Hill. It's a prequel to Light Dawns in Darkness, and happens before that short story, but can be read before or after. It can also be found in the Fool's Honor anthology collection.
