Part of Series

When you give your word, you honor it…or die trying. After murdering Luca, Division 13’s second-in-command, Ronin was scheduled for a permanent stay in Sheol—a supermax prison. On his way to Sheol, Grace, the leader of the Transporters—intervened. Ronin owed her a favor, and she called it in. The favor was simple, deliver Taro, her daughter, to her new post as a Transporter. Except there were a few complications. Taro’s new post was located beneath Sheol, which was nearly impossible to access…alive. In addition, the recently deceased Luca contacted him for an urgent mission. Pain Eaters have started appearing at places of power, attempting to drain them of energy. Luca, calls on Ronin to investigate. When he does, Ronin discovers the residue of a dark, forbidden magic, traces of grisly attacks, and the presence of a secret organization—Tigris. Now, risking it all as he fulfills his promise to Grace, Ronin must uncover the connection between Tigris, the Pain Eaters, and the places of power being drained of lethal magic, as he evades capture by Division 13.
