Released from captivity by enemies of Amara, Verran Thalos finds out the horrors his cousin, Drexan, committed against a litany of adalan. When he finds Aran being abused in a brothel for protecting the human female Ariana, Verran rescues them both before they are reunited with Tyne. Each of them carry scars from their captors and none more so than Aran and Tyne who suffered the worst abuses Drexan had to offer. When Drexan raises his head to inflict even more damage, the four of them must work together to survive and find a place where they can be safe. Can they overcome Drexan and his dark machinations?
