The Stone Cross is a collection of 32 short stories by the Ukrainian writer Vasyl Stefanyk, the centenary of whose birth is being celebrated in 1971. The stories—honest, realistic, earthy—touch and explore the lives of fellow countrymen and incidents in the author's often tragic and impoverished live.
