When a plague ship sails into Deephaven harbour in the middle of the night, the harbourmaster sends out the first people he can find who who might be stupid enough and greedy enough to go and find out what's aboard. Set some years before the Thief-Taker's Apprentice, the Thief-Taker's Blade is the story of how Syannis, the thief-taker of Deephaven, came to own the soul-cutting Knife of Eyes. A novelette fleshing out a little more backstory to the world of thief-takers and dragons.
