We used to be friends, but that was a long time ago. In my defense, I thought our past would make a difference. I thought all those stories of people he fired wouldn't happen to me. I thought wrong. Now the building is under an emergency threat. I am under lockdown with him. I should be afraid, angry, and distressed.
